Which UV Air Puriviers Are Dangerous?

I was looking for a good air purifier to put in my house. Since we have a few pets, the smell can get pretty bad sometimes. An occasional bath is great for them, but we can’t bathe them constantly. Looking through a few different choices, I decided that a UV air purifier would fit our needs, since it also kills bacteria and viruses.

Bacteria are usually what cause those dirty smells and helps with that wet dog smell, too. However, I also read at DC-911 that some UV lights can produce ozone. Apparently, it’s only the cheaper ones, though. I paid a pretty penny for mine, so I don’t have to worry too much.

I also read that manufacturers sometimes put a guarantee on their air purifiers, saying that they don’t produce ozone. Not all manufacturers do this though, but it’s a good thing to promise. Ozone can cause a few breathing problems, especially those that are sensitive to it.

People with lung disease may also have trouble with it, but there is ozone all around us. If you’re worried about ozone, make sure you read the manufacturer’s warnings before you get it. Other customers can tell you if it’s good or bad, so make sure to do some research like I did!

How Does a HEPA Filter Catch and Remove Mold Spores?

Mold spores are invisible to the naked eye. You can’t see them floating around, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there. There are a few ways to tell that you have mold spores floating in the air, though. If you have any mold patches, they will undoubtedly be producing these spores. If you smell mold, there is mold in your home.

There are many other signs, but how do you remove the spores from the air? HEPA filters and other air purifiers do this with ease. Destroying mold spores is part of the process. With relatively recent technology, HEPA filters have four different ways to take in and eliminate these microbes.

By catching them and destroying them through diffusion and electrostatic attraction, it will manipulate these particles and eventually deteriorate them into harmless particles. This works on other microbes as well, so you could find yourself suffering from allergies a lot less.

It destroys things like pollen, dust mites, and more as well. This technology was originally only available to hospitals and those in need of clean rooms, but now they are manufactured at a retail point. If you have mold problems in your home, you may want to get one for current and future problems you may have. This includes allergens, so keep your home healthy.
